AlterTrace terms of service

1. Operator and contact

The service is operated by MJS Bartosz Majewski, Zawadzkiego 40a, 65-528 Zielona Góra, Poland.

2. Service

AlterTrace analyses uploaded images and provides a probabilistic risk score, a technical report and a PDF report. One case covers up to five JPG, PNG or WEBP files, each up to 20 MB.

The report supports human review. It is not expert evidence, does not determine intent and cannot guarantee detection of every alteration.

3. Order and price

The total price is displayed before purchase and includes applicable taxes. The contract is concluded after the purchase button is used and Mollie confirms payment. There is no subscription or recurring charge.

4. Performance

After payment, the user receives temporary access to secure upload. Analysis starts at the user's request and usually completes within minutes, although external provider outages may cause delays.

The user should save the PDF. Online access to a case is temporary.

5. Files

The user confirms that the materials may lawfully be submitted and do not infringe third-party rights. The service must not be used for unlawful identification, harassment or solely automated decisions with significant effects on a person.

6. Withdrawal

Consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. If a consumer expressly requests immediate performance and acknowledges that the right is lost after full performance, that right ends when the analysis is complete.

Before completion, a withdrawal statement may be sent to hello@altertrace.com. Any settlement follows mandatory consumer law.

7. Complaints

Send complaints to hello@altertrace.com with the case ID, payment date and problem description. We respond without undue delay and within the period required by law. If no report is delivered due to our fault, we will rerun the analysis or refund the price.

8. Liability

Results are probability assessments based on available signals and independent providers. AlterTrace is not liable for decisions made solely from the score or for metadata lost through prior file compression.

Nothing limits mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Final terms

Polish law applies without depriving a consumer of mandatory protection in their country of habitual residence. These terms are available free of charge in a form that can be saved and printed.

10. Full performance and loss of the right of withdrawal

The paid service covers analysis of one initial batch of 1 to 5 images and generation and availability of the report. The option to add up to two follow-up images within 7 days is a free additional benefit and is not part of the paid principal performance.

If, before analysis begins, the consumer expressly requests immediate performance and acknowledges that the right of withdrawal will be lost after full performance, the right of withdrawal ends when the report for the initial image batch is generated and made available. Using or not using the free follow-up images does not restore that right. This does not limit the right to complain about a service that does not conform to the contract.
